Blair is 2-8 against South Pasadena since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Blair Vikings will venture away from home to face off against the South Pasadena Tigers at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Blair's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine games.
Blair will head into Monday's contest hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 21-point drubbing they dealt Whittier on Monday. Everything went Blair's way against Whittier as Blair made off with an 82-61 win. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season.
Timmy Anderson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 14 of 19 on his way to 36 points and three steals. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Blair's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaleel Hunter, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 13 points along with six assists and six boards.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when South Pasadena challenged Cabrillo on Saturday. South Pasadena fell 57-50 to Cabrillo. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Blair will need focus on slowing down Jacob Arias, one of several South Pasadena players who made an impact when they last played. He went 6 of 12 en route to 15 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Madison, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards.
Even though they lost, South Pasadena was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cabrillo only racked up eight assists.
Blair's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points per game. As for South Pasadena, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-4.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Blair and South Pasadena are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Blair hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 67.4 points per game. However, it's not like South Pasadena struggles in that department as they've been averaging 71.5 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Blair was taken down by South Pasadena 93-49 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Blair was down 64-26.
