The Harding Skippers's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Mentor Christian and snuck past 40-38. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Harding also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2022.
Harding was led to victory by Jana Vale and Madisen Mcfadden. Vale scored 24 points along with seven rebounds, while Mcfadden dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Vale scored 15 or more points.
Harding's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-14. As for Mentor Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Harding will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on East Palestine at 7:00 p.m. on February 21st. Mentor Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
