4A Far West recap September 24, 2013
Fans got a thrill when Jordan Shaffer and Eli Garrad connected against Hidden Valley. The connection went for 56 yards, the longest such play in 4A Far West this season.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Siuslaw beat Sutherlin 56-12,. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Douglas' offense cannot be tamed this season and the Trojans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Shaffer has thrown for 849 yards and 8 touchdowns this season, while Chance Wimberly has 25 catches for 240 yards. Shaffer also leads the league in rushing with 400 yards.
A big matchup in 4A Far West this week will be when Siuslaw takes on Marshfield. Tim Dodson's team is in first place, while the Pirates are in fourth place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Vikings take on Marshfield. Siuslaw has allowed 62 points this season, while Josh Line's team has given up 79.
