Softball Recap: East Wake Extends Winning Streak to Three

While East Wake's victory against Fike wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. East Wake narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Fike 5-3. The victory was familiar territory for the Warriors, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Madison Smith was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Saucillo, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one RBI.

East Wake's record is now 7-4. As for Fike, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Wake will challenge South Johnston at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (East Wake 3.3, South Johnston 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Fike, they will face off against Southern Wayne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fike is facing Southern Wayne at the right time seeing as Southern Wayne is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
