Even though the Mount Pleasant Tigers scored an imposing 62 points on Friday, the Concord Spiders still came out on top. Concord strolled past Mount Pleasant with points to spare, taking the game 76-62. Given Concord's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 204th, while Mount Pleasant is ranked 504th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Jeremiah Howard, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. The contest was his eighth in a row with at least ten points. Judah Freeman was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five assists.
Concord is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Mount Pleasant, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-8.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing South Rowan the next time they take the court. Mount Pleasant will host South Rowan at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Concord will host them at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
