The Ross Little Giants will face off against the Napoleon Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Ross lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Huron, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's match. The Little Giants were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Tigers on Saturday. The win was nothing new for the Little Giants as they're now sitting on four straight.
Robert Rich Jr was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Karson Kayden looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Ross is 6-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 5-6 otherwise.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Max Durnwald, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Will Eastham was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Napoleon). They put the hurt on Wauseon with a sharp 17-4 victory on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Napoleon got a massive performance out of Mason Trausch, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with five RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Owen Espinoza, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base.
Ross' victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-8. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Napoleon, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5-1 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Ross has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Napoleon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
