If the Rondout Valley Ganders were riding high off their 56-8 takedown of the Livingston Manor Wildcats last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Rondout Valley had to suffer through a rough 69-31 loss at the hands of Saugerties. Rondout Valley has not had much luck with Saugerties recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Saugerties had a senior duo take command as Natalie Tucker scored 21 points along with five assists and five steals and Nicolette Rifenburgh scored 19 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tucker has scored all season. Emily Schlosser was another key contributor, scoring four points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Rondout Valley has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Saugerties, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rondout Valley will take on Pine Plains at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New York (Pine Plains is ranked 305th, while Rondout Valley is ranked 314th). As for Saugerties, they will be playing in front of their home fans against New Paltz at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. New Paltz is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
