Baseball Recap: Ocean Lakes Wins Going Away Against Bayside

Ocean Lakes won the last time they faced Bayside and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Dolphins put the hurt on the Marlins with a sharp 10-1 victory. Considering the Dolphins have won five games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ocean Lakes got a great performance from Aiden Skalski as he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

At the plate, Tre Hamilton was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Turner Kuhle, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Ocean Lakes always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bayside only posted an OBP of .172.

Ocean Lakes is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Bayside, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-7.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Ocean Lakes is set to challenge their familiar foe Kellam at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Dolphins have won three straight at home, while the Knights won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change. Meanwhile, Bayside will take on rival Salem at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
