The Harrison Central Red Rebels will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the D'Iberville Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Harrison Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Saturday.
On Saturday, Harrison Central was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 56-51 to Ridgeland.
Despite their defeat, Harrison Central saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jaden Eckford, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaun Murray, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
D'Iberville suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They fell just short of Ocean Springs by a score of 52-50.
Harrison Central's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for D'Iberville, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.
Harrison Central didn't have too much breathing room in their game against D'Iberville when the teams last played two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 38-32 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Harrison Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
