The Oxford Chargers lost against the Lewisburg Patriots on January 12th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Oxford fell 56-43 to Lewisburg. Oxford has not had much luck with Lewisburg recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Allie Carroll continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lewisburg, scoring 18 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Allison Irby, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Oxford's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-15. As for Lewisburg, they pushed their record up to 17-7 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Oxford will be playing at home against Hernando at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hernando will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Lewisburg, they will head out on the road to face off against Horn Lake at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Horn Lake will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while Lewisburg is ranked 39th).
