5A Region III District 24 recap Oct. 30, 2012
Clear Creek extended the longest winning streak in 5A Region III District 24 this week by beating Clear Brook, 41-28. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Clear Springs took down Clear Falls 45-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Zach Cripps threw for 376 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 73 yards in the win.
The Chargers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Matt Wymyczak helped Clear Springs' passing attack out by catching six balls for 108 yards.
Devin Armstrong was the best wideout in the league this week as Clear Springs topped the Knights. Armstrong racked up five receptions for 114 yards.
Clint Hartman's team's Cripps and Byron Jones have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Cripps has thrown for 2080 yards this season, while Jones has 35 catches for 644 yards. Dickinson's Krysten Hammon leads the league in rushing yards with 788.
A big matchup in 5A Region III District 24 this week will be when Brazoswood takes on Clear Creek. The Buccaneers are currently in third, while Darrell Warden's team is in first.
The Chargers led the league in scoring this week after putting up 45 points on Clear Falls. Cripps in the win.
