The biggest upset of the week belonged to Brewer, who took down 247th ranked Brewer, 36-29. Hunter McDonald ran for 134 yards in the win.
Guyer was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fourth in 4A Region I District 5. The Wildcats vanquished Byron Nelson 53-28 earlier in the week.
Azle's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Johnson Posten threw for 99 and one touchdown and Nolan Harris had 58 yards receiving. Giovanni Augustine helped Azle's passing attack out by catching one ball for 33 yards.
Denton's Cy Ward and Ke' von Buris have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Ward has thrown for 952 yards this season, while Buris has 16 catches for 301 yards. The Hornets' McDonald leads the league in rushing yards with 683.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Rider takes on second place Azle. Last week, Rider defeated Lake Dallas, while Azle beat the Bears.
