Moffat County is 0-10 against Steamboat Springs since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Moffat County Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Steamboat Springs Sailors at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Saturday, Moffat County lost to Delta on the road by a decisive 78-60 margin. Moffat County has not had much luck with Delta recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Evan Beaver, who scored 13 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ian Champ hafey, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Steamboat Springs entered their tilt with Summit with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Steamboat Springs really took it to Summit for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-28 victory at home. The score was close at the half, but Steamboat Springs pulled away in the second half with 31 points.
Brandon Kolb and Brady Adams were among the main playmakers for Steamboat Springs as the former scored eight points along with three blocks and the latter scored 11 points along with six assists. Adams continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Moffat County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Steamboat Springs, they pushed their record up to 12-9 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Moffat County came up short against Steamboat Springs in their previous matchup back in January, falling 49-41. Can Moffat County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
