The Littlerock Lobos will face off against the Eastside Lions at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Littlerock has given up an average of 8.8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Littlerock made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Knight, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lobos fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 11-9 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Lobos in their meetings with the Hawks: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, Eastside came into Tuesday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over Palmdale on Tuesday. The Lions not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 22nd (when they won 17-5).
Vibiana Schalow made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gaselle Marquez, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Luz Navarro was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Eastside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .615. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .367 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Littlerock's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Eastside, their win bumped their record up to 11-9-1.
Littlerock might still be hurting after the 16-2 loss they got from Eastside in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Lobos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
