The Byers Bulldogs posted their closest win yet this season on Friday. They skirted past Flagler 41-39. Winning may never get old, but Byers sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Flagler's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylie Stone, who scored ten points along with five steals. Stone is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Belle Schier, who scored six points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Byers' victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6. As for Flagler, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.
Byers will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Calhan at 5:30 p.m. As for Flagler, they will head out on the road to challenge Idalia at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Idalia is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
