The Norcross Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the North Gwinnett Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Norcross will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Last Friday, Norcross strolled past Peachtree Ridge with points to spare, taking the game 35-17.
Norcross can attribute much of their success to Arrington (aj) Watkins, who rushed for 53 yards and two touchdowns, and Kevin Maven-winchester, who rushed for 234 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, North Gwinnett got themselves on the board against Discovery on Friday, but Discovery never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Titans 62-0 on the road. The result was nothing new for North Gwinnett, who have now won four contests by 29 points or more so far this season.
Kayden Suggs and Ryan Hall were among the main playmakers for North Gwinnett as the former rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown and the latter threw for 148 yards and three touchdowns on only seven passes. Nicholas Bookman was in the mix too, providing North Gwinnett with two touchdowns.
Norcross' win was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.8 points per game. As for North Gwinnett, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Norcross came up short against North Gwinnett when the teams last played back in November of 2022, falling 35-27. Can Norcross avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
