Leading Decatur to victory were Dar Mcjimpson jr and Joshua Carter. Mcjimpson jr scored 26 points along with two steals, while Carter scored 26 points along with five rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carter has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Dominique Degrate, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Auburn Riverside's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leroy Kinnay, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaiden Barba, who scored 18 points.
Even though they lost, Auburn Riverside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Decatur's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-15. As for Auburn Riverside, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Decatur will play host again and welcome Tyee, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tyee is coming into the match with ten straight losses on the road, meaning Decatur will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for Auburn Riverside, they will be playing at home against Bonney Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Auburn Riverside is facing Bonney Lake at the right time seeing as Bonney Lake is stuck on a 15-game losing streak.
