The Berrien Rebels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Dodge County at home and fell 63-36. While losing is never fun, Berrien can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 355th, while Dodge County is ranked 113th).
Dodge County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lyric Green, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds. Green is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Paige Ingram was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Berrien's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Dodge County, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3.
Berrien will challenge Worth County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dodge County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Cook at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th.
