Baseball Game Preview: Lovington Wildcats vs. Portales Rams

For the second straight game, Lovington will face off against Portales. The Wildcats will challenge the Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Lovington is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Portales a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Lovington turned things around against Portales on Thursday. They came out on top against the Rams by a score of 10-6. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

The team relied heavily on Fidencio Lujan, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. He has become a key player for Lovington: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-12 otherwise. Juan Sepulveda was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs.
