Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Thursday (60), Manhattan Center for Science & Math still had to take the loss.
Norman Thomas was led to victory by Jariel Rodriguez and Jaden Chazulle. Rodriguez scored 23 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds, while Chazulle dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rodriguez has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Roger Torres, who scored seven points along with ten rebounds and six steals.
Manhattan Center for Science & Math dropped their record down to 2-11 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Norman Thomas, their win bumped their record up to 6-12.
Manhattan Center for Science & Math will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tottenville at 1:30 p.m. on February 3rd. As for Norman Thomas, they will head out on the road to face off against Seward Park at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Seward Park presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Norman Thomas in New York (Seward Park is ranked 124th, while Norman Thomas is ranked 603rd).
