The Greenville Tigers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Carroll by a score of 35-33. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Carroll had a senior duo take command as Lakeith Person gained 204 total yards and two touchdowns and Keyshawn Cole rushed for 144 yards while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Peyton Plott was another key contributor, picking up 103 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Greenville's defeat was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.0 points per game. As for Carroll, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greenville's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Demopolis at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Demopolis will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Carroll, they will be playing at home against Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
