There's no place like home for the Alcester-Hudson Cubs, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Thursday. They blew past Menno 60-32 at home. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Alcester-Hudson also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Menno's loss on Saturday came despite strong showings from Ashton Massey and Zoe Schaeffer. Massey dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds, while Schaeffer scored ten points along with three steals.
Alcester-Hudson's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-2. As for Menno, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-2.
Alcester-Hudson will head out on the road to face off against West Sioux at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday. West Sioux will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 317th in Iowa, while Alcester-Hudson is ranked 18th in South Dakota). As for Menno, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Scotland at 6:15 p.m.
