Even though the Luella Lions scored an imposing 55 points on Tuesday, the Lovett Lions still came out on top. Lovett took down the Lions 70-55. The win made it back-to-back wins for Lovett.
Lovett found their leader in underclassman Cameron Cannon, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 0 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Kingston Whitty, who scored 15 points.
Lovett is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for Luella, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
Lovett will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Knights at 7:00 p.m. Pace Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 matches -- so hopefully the Lions likes a good challenge. As for Luella, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st.
