Last Tuesday, Life Center Academy earned a 71-59 win over Solebury. Given Life Center Academy's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 140th in New Jersey, while Solebury is ranked 315th in Pennsylvania), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Life Center Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elijah Brown led the charge by scoring 24 points along with five assists and two steals. Brown has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Al-Tariq Reevey, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Cristo Rey Philadelphia entered their tilt with The City School with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Cristo Rey Philadelphia claimed a resounding 71-42 victory over The City School at home. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Cristo Rey Philadelphia just coasted through the last quarter.
Life Center Academy has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season. As for Cristo Rey Philadelphia, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home.
