The Santa Barbara Dons had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.4 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They managed a 41-35 victory over St. Paul. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Abel Renteria looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 88 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 237 yards and a touchdown while picking up 11.9 yards per attempt. Koa Herrera and his 95 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Santa Barbara's victory.
St. Paul's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Ty Bowers, who rushed for 185 yards and a touchdown while picking up 11.6 yards per carry. Anthony Osorio also helped out as he racked up 103 rushing yards.
Santa Barbara's win was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 9-2. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26 points. As for St. Paul, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Santa Barbara will look to defend their home field on Friday against Corona del Mar at 7:00 p.m. St. Paul does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
