The Riverdale Rebels put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Academy of Our Lady at home to the tune of 50-23. Fans of Riverdale have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Riverdale got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jenna Thibodeaux out in front who scored 15 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Thibodeaux has scored at least 25% of Riverdale's points. Another player making a difference was Mazie Parmley, who scored 19 points along with 3 steals.
Riverdale's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Academy of Our Lady, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Riverdale won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Pope John Paul II at 5:00 p.m. on December 6th. Pope John Paul II will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 259th, while Riverdale is ranked 92nd). As for Academy of Our Lady, they will be playing at home against Chalmette at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Chalmette has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
