Softball Recap: Bledsoe County's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Bledsoe County waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences Patriots get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Josie Potter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Macy Holland and Olivia Hooks did most of the damage at the plate: Holland scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Hooks scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. What's more, Holland posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Cameran Tollett was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Bledsoe County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Bledsoe County's victory bumped their record up to 6-3-1. As for Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Looking ahead, Bledsoe County will be playing in front of their home fans against Rhea County at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences, they will venture away from home to challenge Hixson at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
