The Hooper Academy Colts will be home for the holidays to greet the Evangel Christian Academy Lions at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Hooper Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Evangel Christian Academy will be coming in after a defeat.
Even though Hooper Academy has not done well against Sparta Academy recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Hooper Academy walked away with a 40-32 win over Sparta Academy. The victory was just what Hooper Academy needed coming off of a 69-38 defeat in their prior game.
Meanwhile, Evangel Christian Academy took a serious blow against Lakeside School last Thursday, falling 60-31. While losing is never fun, Evangel Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 345th, while Lakeside School is ranked 171st).
Hooper Academy's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Evangel Christian Academy, they bumped their record down to 1-6 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
