Sierra Vista is on a four-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Doral Academy Red Rock is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Mountain Lions will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Dragons at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Sierra Vista will bounce into Monday's matchup after beating Basic, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Mountain Lions walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Wolves on Wednesday.

She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, while Doral Academy Red Rock put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Bonanza. The Dragons blew past the Bengals 13-0. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by seven runs or more this season.
Like Sierra Vista, Doral Academy Red Rock also got a great game from a two-way player: Hailey Ufer. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Ufer has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Gabriella Rodriguez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Gabriella Spinner, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Doral Academy Red Rock was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .314 or higher in seven consecutive contests.
Doral Academy Red Rock has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Sierra Vista, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Sierra Vista suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Doral Academy Red Rock in their previous meeting on April 9th. Will the Mountain Lions have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
