The Arcanum Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Tri-County North Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
After a string of three wins, Arcanum's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 42-41 to Franklin Monroe. The game was a 19-19 toss-up at halftime, but Arcanum couldn't quite close it out.
Despite the defeat, Arcanum saw an underclassman step up: Regan Christ dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Lock, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Tri-County North's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 15th straight loss. They took a 65-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Greenon.
Arcanum's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Tri-County North, they dropped their record down to 1-18 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road.
Everything went Arcanum's way against Tri-County North in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as Arcanum made off with a 55-31 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Arcanum since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
