Baseball Recap: Manteca Wins Going Away Against Tokay

Manteca lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Tokay, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. The Buffaloes blew past the Tigers 15-7 on Tuesday. The Buffaloes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

Nicholas Yee looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Manteca let Brody Carabello and Preston Smith run wild. Carabello scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4, while Smith went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three hits gave Smith a new career-high. Edward Anthony was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.

Manteca's win bumped their record up to 18-6. As for Tokay, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manteca will face off against East Union at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Tokay, they will challenge Franklin at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
