Harvard is 1-9 against Giltner since November of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Harvard Cardinals will square off against the Giltner Hornets at 6:00 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 40 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Harvard and three for Giltner.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 71-24, which was the final score in Harvard's tilt against Shelton on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Harvard in their matchups with Shelton: they've now lost eight in a row.
The losing side was boosted by Taylor Braun, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Giltner was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 53-47 to Hampton.
Harvard's loss was their 20th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-19. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.4 points per game. As for Giltner, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.
Harvard came up short against Giltner in their previous matchup two weeks ago, falling 32-22. Can Harvard avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
