Crandon has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Wabeno/Laona Rebels at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Crandon has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Crandon scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They strolled past Goodman-Pembine with points to spare, taking the game 80-66. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Jaxon Keepers, who went 7 for 14 from beyond the arc en route to 40 points and 5 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Matthew Jahnke, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Wabeno/Laona waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They managed a 97-92 win over Three Lakes. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Crandon is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-9 record this season. As for Wabeno/Laona, they pushed their record up to 7-7 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Crandon came up short against Wabeno/Laona when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 60-47. Can Crandon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
