Volleyball Recap: Lowndes Gets the Win

Lowndes won the last time they faced Pierce County and things went their way on Thursday too. The Vikings walked away with a 2-0 win over the Bears. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.

Lowndes never let Pierce County on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-22.

Emma Grace Godwin paced Lowndes' offense, picking up 11 kills. Godwin got some help from Kalli Ferguson and her 27 assists. Ferguson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Lowndes' victory bumped their record up to 26-10. As for Pierce County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-20 record this season.

Lowndes wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Glynn Academy on the 2nd. Pierce County has also already played their next match (against Brunswick), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
