Roanoke Rapids scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They really took it to KIPP P for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-7 victory at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Roanoke Rapids has managed all season.
Roanoke Rapids can attribute much of their success to Shaniah Daniels, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds, and Kayla Whitfield, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. The game was Daniels' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Morgan Pearson, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Southern Nash had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past South Johnston with a 34-28 win on Wednesday.
Roanoke Rapids' victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Southern Nash, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.
Roanoke Rapids came up short against Southern Nash in their previous meeting back in January, falling 53-47. Thankfully for Roanoke Rapids, Jermia Walker (who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
