Roanoke Rapids can attribute much of their success to Shaniah Daniels, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds, and Kayla Whitfield, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. The game was Daniels' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Morgan Pearson, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Southern Nash had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past South Johnston with a 34-28 win on Wednesday.
Roanoke Rapids' victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Southern Nash, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.
Roanoke Rapids came up short against Southern Nash in their previous meeting back in January, falling 53-47. Thankfully for Roanoke Rapids, Jermia Walker (who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
