Softball Recap: Stevenson Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Win

Stevenson had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the St. Mary's Prep Eaglets an 8-0 shutout. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matches by eight runs or more this season.

Stevenson's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-8-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for St. Mary's Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6-1.

Stevenson has already played their next game, a 7-0 win against South Lyon on the 10th. As for St. Mary's Prep, they will be playing at home against Millington at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
