The Nebraska City Pioneers will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Plattsmouth Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Nebraska City suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Monday. They were dealt a 96-47 defeat at the hands of Wahoo. While losing is never fun, Nebraska City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Wahoo is ranked seventh).
The losing side was boosted by Keston Holman, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Daniel Adanza, who scored seven points along with two steals and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Plattsmouth ended up a good deal behind Malcolm on Monday and lost 50-33. Plattsmouth has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Nebraska City has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season. As for Plattsmouth, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.
Nebraska City suffered a grim 48-25 defeat to Plattsmouth when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Nebraska City, Drew Iverson (who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
