The matchup between Rising Sun and South Dearborn wasn't particularly close, with Rising Sun falling 57-43. Rising Sun lost against South Dearborn in their previous head to head back in November of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 64-49 score last time.
Rising Sun lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brody Morris, who scored 17 points. Gavin Shorten was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds.
South Dearborn's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brodie Teke, who scored 18 points along with three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Teke has scored at least 25% of South Dearborn's points. Another player making a difference was Hudson Shackelford, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Rising Sun has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for South Dearborn, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rising Sun will challenge Milan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Milan is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for South Dearborn, they will head out on the road to face off against Oldenburg Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
