The Hunters Lane Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 13th straight loss. They took a hard 77-62 fall against Cane Ridge. While losing is never fun, Hunters Lane can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 360th, while Cane Ridge is ranked 78th).
Despite the loss, Hunters Lane still got an impressive performance from Michael Small, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah McGill, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Hunters Lane dropped their record down to 2-14 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Cane Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hunters Lane will square off against Antioch at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Antioch knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Hunters Lane likes a good challenge. As for Cane Ridge, they will head out on the road to take on Hillsboro at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hillsboro knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully Cane Ridge likes a good challenge.
