AAAAA Region 2 recap October 8, 2013
Warner Robins extended the longest winning streak in AAAAA Region 2 this week by beating Jones County, 34-14. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Demons.
Lakeside took down Grovetown 58-20 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Evans's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Matlin Marshall threw for 179 and 2 touchdowns and Malik Vandiver had 111 yards receiving. On the ground Ronnie Graham contributed 112 yards. Justin Jackson helped Evans' passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 57 yards.
Carlos Dorsey made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Knights beat Greenbrier. He nabbed 2 interceptions.
Graham was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 112 yards on 18 carries as Evans defeated the Wolfpack. Teammate Marshall added to the ground attack by rushing for 62 yards.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Josh Flowers. The Houston County star has 18 catches for 204 yards.
The Panthers are in third place, while Houston County is in fifth place.
