The Glenelg Gladiators and the High Point Eagles will round out the year against one another at 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Glenelg and nine for High Point dating back to last season.
Last Thursday, Glenelg lost to Liberty on the road by a decisive 57-41 margin.
Meanwhile, High Point fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Northwestern last Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to the Wildcats. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, High Point got a solid performance out of Kadan Solomonraj, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and five blocks. The game was Solomonraj's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ibrahim Turay, who scored 13 points along with nine assists.
Glenelg bumped their record down to 2-4 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for High Point, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
Glenelg was taken down by High Point 77-50 in their previous meeting back in December of 2018. Can Glenelg avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
