The Quince Orchard Cougars lost against the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Barons back in January of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Quince Orchard's tough 50-24 loss to the Barons might stick with them for a while. Quince Orchard has not had much luck with the Barons recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kelly Adams, who scored six points along with two steals.
It was another big night for Frances Doyle, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds for Bethesda-Chevy Chase. Another player making a difference was Sasha Barr, who scored 13 points.
Quince Orchard now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Bethesda-Chevy Chase, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with that win, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Quince Orchard will square off against the Knights at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Wheaton is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Bethesda-Chevy Chase, they will head out on the road to challenge the Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Paint Branch will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 160th, while the Barons are ranked 38th).
