The Cosby Titans are taking a road trip to take on the Deep Run Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cosby is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Cosby took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over Monacan. The win continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Chiefs: they've now won seven in a row.
Cosby got a great performance from Alexys Throckmorton as she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Throckmorton has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Aislin Bossler was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Camrynrae Shaver was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Cosby kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monacan only managed two.
Meanwhile, Deep Run hadn't done well against Godwin recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way two weeks ago. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 11-1 victory.
Emily Plank spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brooke Black, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Alex Murphy also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Deep Run's record now sits at 4-0. As for Cosby, the win got them back to even at 2-2-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Cosby has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Deep Run struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Cosby came out on top in a nail-biter against Deep Run in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, sneaking past 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
