The Pomona Panthers won the last time they faced the Adams City Eagles, and things went their way on Saturday too. Pomona walked away with a 31-23 win over Adams City. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Pomona.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pomona to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kendra Ritzmann, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Ritzmann has scored at least 25% of Pomona's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Janessa Mondragon , who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
Despite the loss, Adams City still got an impressive performance from Fernanda Hernandez, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds. Hernandez is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Arianna Hernandez was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals.
The victory got Pomona back to even at 2-2. As for Adams City, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Pomona's road trip will continue as they head out to face Brighton at 5:00 p.m. on December 5th. Hopefully Brighton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Thursday. As for Adams City, they will be playing at home against Kennedy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Kennedy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday.
