Altamont is 9-1 against Dieterich since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Altamont Indians will be playing at home against the Dieterich Movin Maroons at 7:45 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Altamont scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 71-44 win over Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg. The win was familiar territory for Altamont who now have seven in a row.
Altamont's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaidyn Miller, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Miller has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last ten times he's played. Another player making a difference was Aden McManaway, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, Dieterich had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Farina South Central 62-20 on the road. That 42 points margin sets a new team best for Dieterich this season.
Altamont is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Dieterich, their win bumped their record up to 15-5.
Altamont skirted past Dieterich 42-40 in their previous matchup on January 5th. Will Altamont repeat their success, or does Dieterich have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
