Liberty is 2-8 against Fountain-Fort Carson since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Liberty Lancers will head out on the road to take on the Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Wednesday, Liberty took a serious blow against Pine Creek, falling 62-30. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Liberty in their matchups with Pine Creek: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the defeat, Liberty had strong showings from Jacie Bunck, who scored 11 points along with three steals and two blocks, and Ava Dawes, who scored four points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Fountain-Fort Carson's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 68-29 defeat at the hands of Doherty. Fountain-Fort Carson was down 50-23 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Liberty has not been sharp recently as the team has lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, they dropped their record down to 11-8 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Liberty beat Fountain-Fort Carson 53-40 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Liberty since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
