Everything went their way against the Trinity Raiders on Monday as Edmonson County made off with a 12-1 win. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Hunter Wilson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eli Meredith, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
