There's no place like home for the South Delta Bulldogs, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against Riverside by a score of 67-59 on Tuesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given South Delta's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Riverside is ranked 76th).
South Delta had a senior duo take command as Jamichael Green scored 26 points along with seven rebounds and four steals and Ahmani Lee dropped a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Lee has scored at least 25% of South Delta's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amarion Sanders, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
The victory got South Delta back to even at 4-4. As for Riverside, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.
South Delta will be home for the holidays to greet Humphreys County at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Riverside, they will head out on the road to face off against Simmons at 7:20 p.m. on Friday.
