The Northampton County Jaguars can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They breezed by Weldon on the road to the tune of 57-29. Northampton County pushed the score to 43-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Chargers had little chance of recovering from.
It was another big night for Michaela Hodge, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Northampton County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kashanti Parker, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Weldon's loss came despite strong showings from Kamya Coles and Shaelyn Johnson. Coles scored 15 points along with two steals, while Johnson scored seven points. Coles hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games.
Northampton County's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for Weldon, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northampton County will take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Warren County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 571st, while the Jaguars are ranked 261st). As for Weldon, they will be playing at home against the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
