The Kermit Yellow Jackets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Tornillo 65-20 at home. The win was some much needed relief for Kermit as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Kermit's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aleixa Lara, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and five steals. That's the first time this season that Lara scored 15 or more points. MICHAELA CAZARIN was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with four steals.
Kermit's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-11. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.9 points per game. As for Tornillo, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
Coincidentally, Kermit and Tornillo will both be playing Alpine the next time they take the court. Tornillo will host Alpine at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, while Kermit will head out to face them at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
